The consumption of food with probiotics -- helpful bacterial strains that aid in preventing various conditions such as asthma and eczema -- is on the rise, prompting CPG companies such as Kraft Foods, Dannon and Kashi to incorporate the microbes in their products. Some food experts said more research is needed to validate the widespread use of such bacteria.
