Detroit schools' last chance for reform?

Enrollment in Detroit's public schools continues to drop as the city's charter enrollment climbs -- yet another sign of the system's failure to educate its students, writes The Detroit News editorial board, adding: "The failure is driving families to seek out other choices, a trend that is exacerbating the district's financial woes. Parents are giving up on the Detroit school system." The system must recruit top educators to help turn itself around, the editorial board writes.
