Construction on new Pennsylvania prison starts this summer

Pennsylvania's Department of Corrections this summer will start construction on a $200 million medium-security prison. The prison, dubbed SCI Benner Township, is the first of three new prisons planned for the state. The three prisons, along with housing units in four counties, are funded by the state's capital budget and will cost a total of $862 million.
