FDA approves iPhone application for obstetricians

AirStrip Technologies, a Texas-based firm that specializes in mobile health IT, received FDA approval for an obstetrics application designed for the iPhone. Called AirStrip OB, the software gives obstetricians remote access to historical and real-time waveform data for both mothers and infants, including contraction cycles and cardiac tracings. Such information comes directly from the labor and delivery divisions of hospitals.
