Michigan gives Dow Chemical battery project millions in tax breaks

The Michigan Economic Growth Authority has awarded $145 million in state tax credits to Dow Chemical and its partners to build a $665 million plant for battery manufacturing and research. The project, a joint venture of Dow Chemical, Kokam American and Townsend Ventures, aims to develop lithium battery technology for electric and hybrid vehicles.
