Tennessee to boost e-prescribing via grants worth $14.6M

Tennessee's Office of e-Health Initiatives gave out $14.6 million in grants to help health care providers in the state buy IT systems and other tools necessary for adopting electronic prescriptions, which officials said could prevent medication mistakes and fraud. Among the grant recipients were various hospitals, clinics and West Tennessee Healthcare, a regional health information organization.
