Zenith Optimedia pegs 2009 ad decline at 6.9%

Publicis media buying unit Zenith Optimedia has revised its projections for the 2009 global advertising market and is forecasting total spending of $453.2 billion, down 6.9% from 2008. U.S. spending is expected to drop to $156.9 billion -- a decline of 8.7%. The forecast projects the Internet to capture 12.1% of total spending.
