Ohio is seeking entrepreneurs looking to capitalize on the bountiful natural resources, excellent transportation and inexpensive skilled labor of its Appalachian region. Entrepreneur Craig Newbold started a software-development firm there in 2003 and later a small technology-training firm. "To me, areas like this have a lot of diamonds in the rough," said Newbold. "People that want to live here have the aptitude and the ability, but need to be developed."
