Patient-safety expert is optimistic about quality improvements

During an annual meeting of nurse executives, Lucian Leape, a patient-safety advocate, said he sees "momentous changes" happening with the country's health care system. Leape also expressed optimism that health reforms, particularly those that call for increased accountability of organizations, would help improve quality of care as well as patient safety.
