Senate Democrats move ahead with derivatives trading regulation

JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs Group and other large financial institutions have been striving to dilute measures in the legislation overhauling financial regulations that would alter regulations for derivatives trading. However, Senate Democrats, supported by the White House, have resisted their efforts and are moving forward with the regulatory revamp. Republicans are claiming that the changes will jeopardize the economy.
