American Airlines is notifying some agencies that they must either use the carrier's Direct Connect program or pay a $5.50-per-segment fee and have access to less content, according to Sabre. American confirmed that it plans to modify its Source Premium Policy "to accommodate expected changes in our [global distribution system] agreements later this summer," said a representative of the airline.
