Analysts predict rise of Android-based tablet computers

Google tablet computers could begin to rival Apple iPad devices in the higher-education market over the next four years, according to a new report by IT research company Gartner. Analysts predict users will favor tablets made by the same companies as their smartphones. Apple's iPad currently dominates the tablet market with nearly 70% of sales, while Android-based tablets trail with 20%, according to Gartner.
