China's posts 9.7% growth for Q1 GDP

China's gross domestic product increased 9.7% in the first quarter from the comparable quarter in 2010, the National Bureau of Statistics said. The bureau said its consumer price index increased 5.4% in March, a 32-month high. "Judging from the inflation situation in the first quarter, we are still under great pressure of price hikes," said Premier Wen Jiabao.
