U.S. restaurateurs call on Congress to proceed with swipe-fee reform

About 500 restaurant operators from across the country descended on the Capitol this week to ask Congress to move ahead with efforts to reform the "swipe" fees that banks charge merchants each time a customer pays with a debit card. Restaurateurs asked their representatives to oppose a bill supported by banks that would delay reform for at least two years for further study.
