Why executives need to narrow their focus

More than half of executives say conflicts between projects have made management more difficult, and about 80% say efforts to boost growth have led to wasted resources, according to a survey by Booz & Co. Meanwhile, companies whose executives had fewer priorities reported higher revenues than their less-focused peers. The findings demonstrate the importance of developing coherent strategies that make the most use of a company's limited resources, Booz & Co.'s Paul Leinwand and Cesare Mainardi write.
