When it comes to grid security, the weakest link is often human

As more utilities shift to two-way communications and smart meters, innovative criminals will no doubt find ways to circumvent security barriers, experts note. To mitigate the threat, eMeter's Chris King writes, the best place to start doesn't involve technology, but human nature. King says companies need to start by bolstering "human security measures" -- such as password protection -- and employing analytics software that identifies unauthorized access and other signs of a possible breach.
