Foursquare plans to sell users' check-in data to advertisers

Foursquare is reportedly set to launch a new ad product that will allow marketers to buy users' check-in data in order to target ads on third-party platforms. Advertisers would likely find value in Foursquare's data sets, but users might not take kindly to their location data being sold for targeting on third-party sites. "We're really excited about our 2013 monetization road map and will provide more details when the time comes," a spokesman said.
