DIRECTV will ask viewers to suggest "Cable Effects" storylines

DIRECTV will engage with fans of its successful "Cable Effects" spots as a way of sparking ideas for new storylines, the company said. Judges will review submitted scripts, and DIRECTV hopes to select parts of the best ones to use in its next round of ads. "The reason why we are doing this is because it feels like this campaign has struck a chord with people," said DIRECTV Senior Vice President Jon Gieselman.
