HTML5 apps may pose security risk from XSS attacks

HTML5-based mobile applications are an easy target cross-site scripting, or XSS, attacks from a variety of channels including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SMS and MP3s, according to a report from Syracuse University researchers. "As long as an HTML5-based app displays information obtained from outside or from another app, it may be a potential victim," the report states.
