Study: User confidence in data security varies by industry

Most consumers want more control over how personal data from mobile devices is gathered and used, according to a GfK study. A minority trust marketers, advertisers, international companies and social networks with their data. However, two-thirds of those surveyed said they do trust hospitals, health care providers, online payment systems and Web retailers to keep their information private.
