Sylvan Learning hopes to add 10 centers in Sacramento, Calif.

Sylvan Learning wants to add up to 10 educational centers in the Sacramento, Calif., area as part of an expansion effort that includes overseas locations, said Scott Hurlock, Sylvan's vice president of franchise development. The 1,800-square-foot centers would open in the Sacramento market over the next two years, Hurlock said. The company recently modified its teaching model to include the use of iPads and digital learning, allowing franchisees to save money on rental space.
