Tech giants look beyond the cookie for mobile tracking

Tech giants are working hard to make the cookie obsolete for tracking consumer behavior across devices, especially on mobile. Facebook is touting a "cross-platform solution" after its acquisition of Atlas Solutions; Google has integrated its e-mail mobile application with its other apps; and Microsoft and Apple have introduced traceable unique identifiers for their mobile devices.
