Cold Snap Limits Lettuce Supply

Unexpected cold temperatures in Arizona and California have pushed the price of iceberg lettuce to $3 per head in some areas, reports say. Schools and restaurants are said to be feeling the pinch hardest because lettuce is not easily replaced. Researchers estimate Americans eat about 25 pounds of iceberg lettuce a year.
