Indian patent law said to undermine fight against AIDS

A top UN official said India's new law protecting drug patents would undermine the global fight against HIV/AIDS by decreasing the availability of new generic drugs in the future. "We will continuously need new anti-retroviral drugs," said Peter Piot, director general of UNAIDS.
