The debt on distressed apartment complexes and office buildings is starting to draw interest from real estate investors, says Jonathan Davis, chief executive of Davis Cos. His firm recently started acquiring commercial real estate mortgages, focusing on properties held by owners having a hard time meeting their debt service.
