SEC takes another look at reform for ratings agencies

Members of the Securities and Exchange Commission are examining their ability to regulate ratings agencies under the Credit Rating Agency Reform Act. "If investors do not or cannot rely on credit ratings, then rating agencies serve no purpose in our economic system," said James Kaitz, president of the Association for Financial Professionals.
