Pet Week campaign aims to promote human, animal health

The mayor of Greensboro, N.C., has declared May 2 to 8 as Pet Week in line with the National Pet Week campaign. This year's theme for the campaign focuses on the health problems triggered by obesity in pets and their owners, including diabetes and hypertension. AVMA and the Auxiliary to the AVMA launched National Pet Week in 1981.
