Nick Clegg, leader of Britain's Liberal Democrats, is the winner of the U.K.'s first televised debate for next month's general election, according to viewer polls. Three surveys put Clegg ahead of U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown, leader of the Labor Party, and Conservative Party challenger David Cameron. Clegg accused Brown and Cameron of sounding "exactly the same." He challenged the two to be honest with the public about spending cuts they would implement after the election.
