Using RTI with ELLs nets results for California district

California's Chula Vista Elementary School District has seen dramatic improvements in math and reading among English language learners -- who comprise 36% of its students -- by using Response to Intervention techniques. A district administrator says RTI helps to change teaching techniques in a way that supports students. Several researchers are looking at the overlap between RTI and practices used for teaching ELL students.
