Banks put money on iPhone apps

Banks prefer to write consumer mobile applications for the iPhone -- even though Android has become the leading smartphone platform -- because developers have tilted toward the Apple system, according to a report from the TowerGroup market research firm. "[S]upport for the Android is surging," said TowerGroup's Andy Schmidt, who warned banks to keep their options open or face losing customers.
