Lifestyle program aims to keep pre-diabetes in check

A free, yearlong program called Project Lifestyle Change seeks to help Chicago-area patients with pre-diabetes keep their glucose and weight in check so they do not progress to type 2 diabetes. A nutritionist helps people plan low-calorie diets, a physical therapist works with participants on exercise plans and later classes focus on healthy cooking and dining out.
