London Olympic Games to rely on low-carbon concrete

London may have given up its goal of hosting the 2012 Olympic Games using only renewable energy, but the city is still making headway when it comes to energy efficiency. So the city is focusing on carbon accounting. One commitment in place is to use specially designed low-carbon concrete; another is to encourage people to choose public transportation. The low-carbon concrete "unlocks energy and has less carbon, therefore causing fewer emissions," says a top organizer.
