Virginia farm animal-care law goes into effect this summer

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell has signed into law a bill that sets standards of care for farm animals, including providing them with access to veterinary care as well as sufficient food and water. The law, which takes effect in July, also maps the procedure for seizing neglected or abused animals in the state.
