Argentine ethanol firm to develop $40M facility

Argentina-based ethanol producer Porta Hermanos is planning to develop a $40 million corn-based ethanol plant in the city of Leones. The 23.7 million-gallon facility will be owned with trading firm BLD, said Porta Hermanos President Jose Porta. Argentina may increase its mandatory ethanol-blend rate from 5% to 10% in the next four years, Porta added.
