Minn. working group is crafting system for teacher evaluations

A tool for evaluating teachers is being developed in Minnesota, where a working group of 39 educators, parents and lawmakers are involved in the process. The approach, to be implemented statewide, will mandate new requirements for measuring student progress. In addition, new requirements for professional development and teacher peer review are being developed that could include "professional learning communities" for teachers to share best practices.
