Ohio to grade schools on closing achievement gap

Schools in Ohio will be graded on their progress in closing the achievement gap between white students and their peers. By 2017, the state hopes to have cut the achievement gap on state tests by half. Under the planned school grading system, a quarter of schools' assessments will be based on whether the achievement gap has been diminished.
