Pa. loosens rules on net metering for renewable-energy systems

Pennsylvania's Public Utility Commission issued new regulations extending the state's net metering program to renewable-energy systems installed by third parties. Under the new rule, residents who rent their roofs or property to renewable-energy producers will be eligible to receive net metering benefits.
