Social studies expo brings history to life

From Dr. Seuss to Irena Sendler to Jack the Ripper, the famous and the infamous were represented in the 145 student exhibits presented in this year's third annual Social Studies Expo at Ironton High School in Ohio. The goal of the expo, said history teacher Mary Near, was to expand students' knowledge of social studies and history with a hands-on project that reaches outside the classroom.
