Some Calif. teachers include lessons on the 1992 riots

Some teachers in California are including lessons about the 1992 riots that followed the trial of police officers accused of beating a black man. The Los Angeles school district plans to offer online resources teachers can use on the topic. However, lessons about the riots remain limited because of the need for teachers to focus on standardized test subjects, officials say.
