Calif. fab makes old-school ICs under new management

What was once NEC's wafer fabrication facility in Roseville, Calif., where DRAMs were made, is operating under new management as TSI Semiconductors, Don Clark reports. TSI is functioning as a silicon foundry for older analog and mixed-signal chip designs, not the advanced digital ICs produced in Taiwan and other countries, he notes.
