DNB: Rebound in Asian demand will boost LPG tanker fleet

Norwegian financial services firm DNB sees 4.8% growth in the liquefied petroleum gas tanker fleet next year as demand for the commodity increases in Asia. "We expect volumes to remain on a recovery trend following the 2007-2009 financial crisis, and our 4% annualized growth forecast over the next three years compares with annualized growth of 2.7% in the past 10 years and 3.2% in the past five years, as growth is catching up with the lost volumes in 2007-2010," a DNB report states. "We are confident demand for LPG will recover after slumping following the global financial meltdown in 2007-2009."
