Florida is hoping to be a key player in the growing business of commercial space launches, and some watched Orbital Sciences' launch from the Virginia coast and SpaceX's plans to possibly focus on Texas with some dismay. Now leaders in Florida's Space Coast region are focusing on a strategy that involves the creation of a commercial space-launch complex. "The commercial marketplace won't wait," said Frank DiBello, president and CEO of Space Florida. "We need to cause that paradigm shift now if we want to be in the game."
