French officials disclose personal wealth

The French government published information on ministers' assets in an effort to rebuild trust after former Budget Minister Jerome Cahuzac, once responsible for leading the fight against tax evasion, disclosed this month that he held about €600,000 in an undeclared Swiss bank account. Government officials' wealth has long been viewed as a private matter in France.
