Gangs target students through social media

In Anne Arundel County, Md., police officers recently told students and others that gangs are increasingly using social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, to recruit students as members. While some contact takes place remotely, officers said that in some cases gangs troll social media to see where students who skip school have gone. Gang members show up there and recruit the students.
