Upcoming flood maps spur concerns for La. parish homeowners

The upcoming revised flood maps for Louisiana's St. Charles Parish are expected to make insurance more costly for affected communities, and homeowners say they are unable to sell their properties. The Federal Emergency Management Agency's "recent actions regarding St. Charles Parish's flood maps were terribly irresponsible," said Rep. Cedric Richmond, D-La. "Now property values are depressed and some real estate deals have stalled. The community has every right to be frustrated and concerned."
