Column: Hotels ramping up service to LGBT community

A push to cater to the preferences of the LGBT community is under way in the hotel industry amid the segment's significant growth in the past few years. A report by Community Marketing & Inc. indicates that travel spending by the U.S. LGBT community amounts to $65 billion per year. The blog Further Afield lists more than 250 travel spots around the world that are open to LGBT travelers, compared with 30 in 2012.
