NBCU builds in-house shop for digital video content

NBCUniversal is creating a digital-video unit that will initially produce four series to be distributed on its digital platforms, video-on-demand and Hulu. NBCU says it has a distinct promotional advantage over others in the digital-video space because of its broadcast and cable channels, which are especially useful for TV-show spinoffs. "The combination of digital video alongside television content is extremely powerful and becoming an increasingly important part of the connection advertisers make with consumers," says NBCU President of Advertising Sales Linda Yaccarino.
