NRF urges W. Coast ports to negotiate new labor deal

NRF has urged management and dockworkers at West Coast ports to negotiate a new contract before the current deal expires this summer, to assure retailers that there won't be disruptions in their holiday shipments, which start arriving in July. "Any kind of disruption at the ports would add costly delays to our members’ supply chains and other industries relying on U.S. West Coast ports, and it likely further threatens the fragile economic recovery," NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay said.
