Symrise offers $1.8B for Diana Group

German-based flavor and aroma manufacturer Symrise has made an offer for Diana Group, based in Vannes, France, for $1.8 billion to expand its offerings in the natural ingredients category. The two companies are in exclusive discussions and the acquisition would make Symrise the third largest scent and flavor company and closes the gap with its top competitor Givaudan. “With Diana we will be able to significantly diversify our portfolio for natural ingredients, tap into new business segments, strengthen our raw material supply and meet the requests for traceability from our customers,” said Heinz-Jürgen Bertram, Symrise CEO.
