Study: Calcium may keep weight gain at bay

A University of Hawaii study that followed 323 girls ages 9 to 14 shows that those who consume high levels of dairy weigh less than girls who eat fewer dairy products. Dairy and calcium intake is linked to the level of fat and weight among adolescent girls, says lead author and nutritionist Rachel Novotny.
